Junior School Assessments
Our assessments are fun activity sessions, where a friendly and experienced teacher will spend time with your child, getting to know them so we can gauge their educational needs. Children will be with our staff for about an hour so you can enjoy a coffee or chat with a member of the Leadership Team while you wait.
Primary 1 Assessments

Assessments from 10 - 17 January 2025. In Primary 1, children are assessed through activities and games.
Primary 2 and 3 Assessments

Assessments are on-going from November 2024. In Primary 2 and 3, we assess elements of Literacy and Numeracy.

Primary 4 -7 Assessments

Assessments are on-going from November 2024. Primary 4-7 children are assessed in small groups and are taken through a range of written and computerised assessments.
S1 Assessments

Our S1 Assessment Day for Stewart’s Melville College and The Mary Erskine School takes place on Monday 9 January 2025.

It is helpful if applications are submitted before Monday, 9 December for August 2025 entry.

On the day, as well as touring the school and meeting our teachers, children will complete papers in Mathematics, English and Verbal Reasoning. You can find out more about what to expect here.
