Application and Enrolment fees

There is a non-refundable application fee of £90 per child. Paying this fee is the final step in the online application process. Please have your debit or credit card ready when completing the application

A one off, non-refundable Enrolment fee of £300 per child is required at the time of enrolment. This fee is transferred to the Bursary Endowment Fund and is used to support the education of pupils for whom a place in school would otherwise be unaffordable.

UniformSchool uniform

Stevensons sell new uniforms, PE and Games kit for all our schools in their Edinburgh shop.  Junior School girls wear The Mary Erskine School Games kit and Junior School boys wear Stewart's Melville College kit. You can order online from Stevensons or visit their shop at 1-3 Elfin Square, Edinburgh EH11 3AN. 

The schools also operate Thrift Shops offering a wide selection of good quality, second-hand uniform as well as non-uniform clothing and equipment such as sporting gear, walking boots and ski suits. The Thrift Shop is open every Thursday during term time from 3.15pm to 4.30pm and the first Saturday of each month from 10.00am to 11.30am (excluding holidays) and is located in Stewart's Melville College. Vistors should sign in at Reception and follow the signs on arrival. 

Books and Stationery

In The Junior School almost all books are supplied free of charge other than those which remain with a child into the senior school. All stationery and writing materials are supplied. 

Schoolbooks required for the Senior Schools are available from several retailers, including Blackwell's and stationery can be bought from the school shop. 

Hot Lunch

Hot lunches are compulsory from Nursery to P1 and optional thereafter. The annual charge is £864 for students from Nursery to S3, and between £672 and £806 for S4-S6 students. For Nursery children, if families are eligible for the Early Learning and Childcare Funding (1140 hours), there is no extra cost for a hot lunch. 

Optional Extras 

  • Each year there are a wide variety of residential and non-residential trips available to children of all ages. These trips are not normally compulsory and costs do vary
  • ​​Our coach service costs between £1.00 and £5.62 per single journey depending on distance
  • ​ESMS Sports Centres membership costs £681 per family per year. Individual adult memberships are also available 
  • Individual Music Tuition costs £219.80 for ten lessons of 30 minutes
  • Our wraparound care service, e-Plus, is available from £5.00 per day
