Joining ESMS Junior School

Limited places available for August 2019 entry.

ESMS Nursery and ESMS Junior School provide independent  nursery and primary education in the heart of Edinburgh for children aged from 3.

From your child's very first day at ESMS, we will get to know them individually as they become important members of our school community. Children are taught together from Nursery to Primary 7, after which they benefit from single-sex senior school education at The Mary Erskine School or Stewart's Melville College before joining together again for a co-educational Sixth Form.

What can you and your child expect from an education with ESMS?

  • Primary education anchored in our five school values
  • A balanced focus on traditional manners and values alongside modern teaching utilising Virtual Reality, iPads and chromebooks in classrooms
  • Specialist teaching throughout Nursery to Primary 7 in subjects including Music, Drama, Dance, PE, French, Art and ICT
  • Sporting programmes with a National reputation and a large number of teams to ensure that there are opportunities for children to take part at all levels
  • An emphasis on Outdoor Education, including Forest Kindergarden, residential camps from Primary 4 and the JASS programme, helping children to become more independent as they grow
  • Opportunities to take part in Educational Tours abroad
  • Access to excellent facilities, some specifically designed for the Junior School and others that are shared with the Senior Schools such as our state of the art Performing Arts centre, science labs, large swimming pool, tennis courts, rugby and hockey pitches and floodlit Astroturf
  • School coach service picking up across Edinburgh, the Lothians and Fife
