After dreaming up a ‘Dress Up and Dine In’ fundraising initiative during their daily walk, the Dey family have so far raised a fantastic £1,450 for the Trussell Trust.
Two weeks ago, Charlie (P2), Harry (Primrose) and their mum Amy were out on their daily walk when they bumped into some family friends who mentioned that they were dressing up for dinner that night as a change from their normal evenings in lockdown. As soon as they got home, Charlie asked his mum if they could also dress up for dinner, which prompted Amy to think about the potential for the idea to become a fun way to raise money for the Trussell Trust.
The Trussell Trust is a charity with a mission to stop UK hunger and poverty. They support a network of over 1,200 food banks across the UK to help provide emergency food aid and assistance to people who are most in need. With food banks facing increased demand since lockdown measures were imposed, supporting our local food banks has never been so vital.
The Dey family officialy launched their ‘Dress Up and Dine In’ campaign soon after, and they have generated support from over fifty other households in lockdown after just three weeks!
If you would like to get involved, the campaign is simple:
- Get dressed up as if you were dining out
- Enjoy a nice meal, whether that’s brunch, lunch, afternoon tea or dinner
- Donate £10 (if you can) to the Trussell Trust via the official Just Giving page
- Don’t forget to have fun!
We would like to say well done to the Dey family for taking a simple idea and turning it into a a fun way for families to raise money for such an important cause.
