Congratulations to all the finalists, Andrea Ferguson, Tom Jamieson, Jessica Smith, Jessica Latimer, Iona Mitchell, Lara Herd, Elisabeth Meredith-Grout, Kate Hall, Alex Stevenson, Fraser Anderson and Daisy Hume who took part in the Junior Masterchef competition which was organised and sponsored by Chartwells Catering. The competition was won by Daisy Maitland Hume. The brief was to produce two dishes based on the Great British Bake Off with one of them having to include a tuile biscuit. Under pressure Daisy made her first dish of a Panna cotta with raspberry coulis resting on a tuile dish and her second dish was provolone and aubergine baskets which impressed the judges enormously.
Daisy won a voucher for £120 for Jamie Oliver's restaurant in George Street. All the contestants performed extremely well and received the latest Mary Berry book as a consolation prize. We are grateful to Chartwell's whose, Development Chef, Darren Tinkler, judged the event with Head Girl, Connie Longmate and Head Boy, Jack Hogarth.
