We are delighted to report that we have had yet another year of excellent SQA exam results at National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher levels.
Our S6 pupils achieved outstanding results this year with 96% able to take up their first choice university.
University entry in 2021 has been particularly competitive and ESMS students have done extraordinarily well in gaining places at a variety of impressive institutions in the UK. These include Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard, St Andrews, Glasgow, Bristol Old Vic, Glasgow School of Art and London School of Economics.
The courses our students have opted for are wide-ranging, including Politics and International Relations, Art, Law, Archaeology, Medicine, Theatre Performance, Engineering, Product Design, Business, Zoology and Theoretical Physics.
ESMS Principal, Mrs Linda Moule, said:
"I am delighted that our students have managed to achieve such outstanding results, despite the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. Their hard work will now enable them to follow the career path they dreamed of. The range of courses our pupils have chosen is fantastic to see and a great reflection of the broad curriculum and extensive careers programme we provide here at ESMS. We wish them all the best of luck in the next stage of their journey.”
The success of our pupils also continued further down the school with excellent results for both Higher and National 5 exams too.
Key highlights across the Senior Schools include:
- Over 76% of National 5 results were A-grade across ESMS
- Overall A-rate increased at almost every examination level at MES and SMC
- A new A-rate record set at SMC for Higher level for a second year
- running
- 96% of last year's Sixth Form students are heading to their first choice of institution.
