The Mary Erskine School Annual Virtual Art & Design Exhibition returns to our screens this month, showcasing the creative talents of our budding artists and designers from the class of 2022.
Whilst the Virtual Art Exhibition developed out of necessity during lockdown, it has now been permanently adopted by Fiona MacGregor, Head of Art & Design at MES. The exhibition gives pupils their very own virtual showcase, allowing them to share their artwork and celebrate their achievements with friends and family, worldwide.
This year the exhibition features work from across the Senior School, with the Advanced Higher Expressive Portfolios at the heart of the showcase. The pupils developed their own concepts using themes such as Humanity, Isolation, Evolution of the Child, Dreams, and Imperfection, creating outstanding works of art.
The exhibition includes S5 pupils’ Expressive and Design portfolios for their Higher Art and Design units. Themes explored in their work include Conflict, The Sea, and Organic Structures.
It is the first year that MES has delivered the National 5 Art & Design course and the exhibition features some wonderful expressive and design work by our talented S4s.
Artwork on display from S3 takes inspiration from The Cubists and Paul Cézanne.
The exhibition also includes a curated selection of artwork from our S1 and S2 pupils who have particularly stood out, demonstrating their creative and technical skills, commitment, and progress.
Mrs MacGregor and the whole Art Department warmly invite you to enjoy this year's exhibition. Please follow this link to take a look around the exhibition. Please note that the virtual space is best experienced on a desktop computer or tablet.
